C15 learning activity took place in Athens, Greece from Friday April 15th to Tuesday April 19th 2016.
In the context of C15 learning activity ‘revised MC resources’ developed for C6 and the radically new version of the MCE were used with teachers and students.
The activity started with discussions related the design of the learning intervention. Pre-planning has already taken place online helping the CONSTRUIT! team to take final decisions.
On April 16-18 two workshops took place in the 2nd Experimental Gymnasium of Athens targeting teachers and students. The workshop for teachers took place was completed in two rounds (April 16& 17) and was attended by 22 teachers that are active at secondary and vocational education level. The workshop for students took place on April 18 engaging in “construal making” 25 secondary school students. In the context of a 3 hour workshop, the students were moved and supported by the CONSTRUIT! team to make figures, to use maths in creative and exploratory ways, to explore computing and to animate the solar system.
Both groups were exposed to making construals through the new version of MCE environment.
During the teacher training session CONSTRUIT! team demonstrated to the teachers how construal making applies to Arduino technology. This was a novelty that has not been presented to teachers before.
In the end of C15 learning activity and based on the experience gained, key decisions were taken regarding resources development and deployment in SciFest 2016 (Finland) (forthcoming learning activity).
